Position: Marketing & Communications Officer

Responsible to: Head of Engagement & Wellbeing

Salary: £27,300

 

The role

As the Marketing and Communications Officer for the Cii Group (Cii and Cii Construction), you will play a crucial role in shaping the way we communicate our brand, products and services to the external world. You will be responsible for creating marketing materials and content for all areas of the organisation that capture the attention of our target audience and leave a lasting, positive impression.

 

The key responsibilities

·      Brand Management: Creatively convey our brand message to engage our audience through various platforms. In doing so create compelling brand stories that resonate with our audience and evoke a positive, emotional reaction.

·      Content Creation: Produce compelling, visually appealing and informative content including but not limited to videos, photos, infographics, blog posts, case studies and more.

·      Social media platforms: Be responsible for the look and feel of all Cii Group social media platforms, such as X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and our websites. Update these with the content created on a regular basis to both effectively engage our current target audience and reach new audiences.

·      Marketing Materials: Be responsible for all Cii Group marketing and promotional materials, creating captivating visuals, content and graphics and improve these on an ongoing basis.

·      Market Research: Stay up to date on industry trends and conduct market research to identify opportunities for creative marketing and communications that will lead to increased customer engagement both for Cii and Cii Construction.

·      Collaboration: Work closely with the Cii and Cii Construction operational teams to ensure consistent and creative messaging across all customer touchpoints.

·      Impact: Track and measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts, supporting the creation of organisational impact reports and appropriate award applications.

 

Who we’re looking for.

·      We’re not too hung up on qualifications. However, relevant training in marketing, content creation or communications would be useful.

·      Skilled in creating high-quality content in a range of formats. Experience of this would be useful.

·      We want the successful person to manage our social media platforms, so experience and understanding of these platforms will be important.

·      Not only that, you’ll need to keep up to date with the latest social media trends, so experience and understanding of this will be key.

·      Competent in the use of WordPress or willing to learn.

·      Good levels of literacy and numeracy.

·      Able to work towards deadlines.

·      The role will be home-based, so we need someone who can work independently but also respond well to supervision.

·      We deliver projects across South Wales, so you’ll need access to a car so you can get out to these sites and gather the photos and videos needed to create our content.

·      If you could speak and communicate through Welsh that would be great but not essential.

Position: Funding Officer

Responsible to: Head of Funding

Salary: £27,300

The role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as our Funding Officer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing financial support to drive the growth, sustainability, and impact of our organisation. As a Funding Officer, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, building relationships with potential donors, including trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and crafting compelling proposals that align with our vision, mission and values.

The key responsibilities

·      Fund research: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including grants, trusts & foundations, government programs, and corporate partnerships. In doing so, stay informed about current funding trends and opportunities relevant to the third sector.

·      Proposal development: Work collaboratively with the Cii Management Team and Operational Staff to gather information and develop clear, persuasive, and well-structured funding proposals. Tailor proposals to the specific requirements of different funding sources while ensuring alignment with the organisation’s vision, mission and values.

·      Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners, and funding organisations. Act as the main point of contact for enquiries related to funding opportunities, providing timely and accurate information.

·      Networking: Attend relevant events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the organisation’s funding reach and connect with potential funding partners.

·      Impact: Develop and implement systems for tracking the impact of funding and funded projects. Provide regular updates to donors on the progress and outcomes of funded initiatives.

Who we’re looking for.

·      We’re not too hung up on qualifications. However, relevant training or qualifications in fundraising, communications or business would be useful.

·      Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to convey our impact through funding applications in a clear and compelling manner is a must.

·      Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or related roles in the sector would be useful.

·      Able to work towards deadlines.

·      The role will be home-based, so we need someone who can work independently but also respond well to supervision.

Position: Multi-Skill Construction Tutor

Responsible to: Head of Operations

Salary: £27,300

The role

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Multi-Skill Construction Tutors to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting individuals to build their confidence and learn new skills whilst actively contributing to the regeneration of empty properties. This position goes beyond traditional tutoring by combining education with practical, hands-on experience to empower our participants to build confidence, learn new skills and make positive life improvements. 

The key responsibilities

·      Training: Working with your colleagues and supported by our Head of Operations, conduct hands-on training, providing clear and concise instructions to participants. Demonstrate proper construction techniques, safety practices, and industry standards. Offer guidance and constructive feedback to individuals to enhance their skills and understanding. Differentiate methods based on skill and confidence levels of participants being supported.

·      Renovation Management: Oversee and coordinate the renovation of empty houses, ensuring that the project aligns with the learning objectives and timescales agreed. Supervise and guide participants in applying skills to real-world construction projects. Collaborate with other professionals, contractors, and volunteers involved in the renovation process.

·      Individual Support:  With our Head of Engagement & Wellbeing, provide one-to-one and group assistance to participants who may require additional support. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages questions, creativity, and problem-solving.

·      Progress Support: Led by our Head of Engagement & Wellbeing, contribute to project inductions, learning assessments and progress reviews to manage participant progress, barriers and wellbeing. 

·      Resource Management: Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for both instructional and renovation purposes. Assist in budgeting and procurement of necessary resources.

Who we’re looking for.

·      We’re not too hung up on qualifications. However, relevant training or qualifications in trades such as plastering, carpentry, painting & decorating is useful.

·      Excellent construction and trade skills are a must. You don’t need skills and experience in all trades, as you’ll be working with other tutors providing a combination of the trades required.

·      Proven experience in the construction industry is essential.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are an important part of this role.

·      Teaching or tutoring experience, preferably in a vocational or adult education setting would be useful, but not important.

·      Strong organisational and project management skills are important.

·      Able to work towards deadlines.
